Let’s see if we can root out what I’ve been for Halloween for my, well, life. Or at least since high school.2008- Queen Susan from the Narnia films. A friend made the costume for me.
2007-Tiki Goddess. I got the idea when my grampa sent me a shell necklace for my birthday.
2006- I couldn’t remember this for life of me. I wound up asking the ex, who finally remembered that we went to go see The Oohlas that night and I interviewed them. I was sad that it meant I couldn’t dress up. I wound up wearing a large bracelet and extra eye makeup.
2005- I was in New York for this year. I only had what I’d taken to Europe with me as we were on our way back, so I was some kind of mermaid. It was cold in New York. I wore a long sleeved shirt, a bikini top over that, and then a sarong over jeans. Whatever.
2004- Geisha. I had big plans, but come Halloween I was wandering around in a ton of safety pins.
2003- Mail order bride, complete with pig
2002- French Maid. I made the costume myself, sewing white lace onto a black shirt I didn’t like.
2001- My friend from high school showed up. He dressed like a pimp, I dressed like a ho.
2000- My other friend from high school showed up. I dressed like a pimp, she dressed like a ho.
1999- I busted out an old Egyptian costume for this.
1998- I have a sneaking suspicion that I spent this year in my attic with my two best friends eating candy and Cheez Whiz while reading comic books. We were confused about growing up, so this seemed the most logical choice.
